The example of Yamaguchi rule2008-05-18 10:06:59
Hello!

We had introduced the tournament by Yamaguchi rule in January at Mikami-cup.
I will show some diagrams. At first, I explain the system. We have 4 class.
The system is;
for beginner--> free
for kyu player--> 3 move change without 5th alternative
for dan player(below 4dan)--> RIF rule
for top player(more than 4dan)--> Yamaguchi rule
Mr. Okabe won for top player class as I mentioned before this year.
We think this system can be easily recognized opening rule at every class.
I will pick up some diagrmas.

Okabe-Kawamura(TB)
I prefer I6 with 3 5th move. Okabe chose black and showed 5,6,J9 at 5th move.
Okabe was good for attacking, move 11,13,17 and I finally lost.
This 5th move maybe a little advantage for black but I think it is good balance between black and white.

Yamaguchi(TB)-Isobe 5-->6,8,9,G10
It means Yamaguchi showed D2 and 5 stones. Isobe chose white.
11 or 15 was bad so this 5th move was not so bad.

Okabe(TB)-Ishitani draw at 96th move(no show after64)  5-->8,25,36,41,42
Okabe showed D4 with 6 stones!
It can be possible!?

Nagao(TB)-Yamaguchi  5-->11,32
I10 with 3 stones will be interesting.

Yamaguchi-Kawamura(TB) 5-->H7,J9
I tried to select I6 with 3 stones again.
Yamaguchi changed the 3rd move of Okabe's.
His move 13,17 was fantastic and load to win.

Anyway, I think Yamaguchi rule made us some interesting games.
I think lots of analysis will be done all over the world from now on.
We are ready to change oopening rule (but only for dan player for a while)

Thanks!
